People Power book launched in south Wales

Beautifully designed with large illustrations and clearly set out text this book entices you into the pages and enthral with stories of the people who ‘powered’ the industrial Revolution in south Wales. 100 page paperback with full colour reproductions of many previously unseen images.

This is another successful collaboration between writer and researcher Ruth Waycott of Wye Knot Tourism and designer Maria Dispirito of Dispirito Design.

Published by Herian this small (120mm x 180mm) but substantial book is about the colliers and quarrymen who cut and hauled raw materials for industry; the hundreds of thousands of nameless and forgotten ordinary men, women and children who laboured in ironworks and factories; the pioneering engineers and inventors, whose ideas and designs made the Industrial Revolution happen.

Publisher Herian – Heritage in Action, is a unique partnership with a mission to bring alive the amazing story of Wales, the world’s first industrial nation. Herian brings together public, voluntary and community groups to enable local people and visitors alike to discover and enjoy the rich legacy of the dynamic generations who triggered change across the globe.
