Bath International Music Festival Brochure

Brochure to support and promote the Bath International Music Festival 2003.

This years festival was to be a celebration of today's adventurous and richly diverse musical life: classical, contemporary, early jazz, world and everything in between.

Bath Festivals Trust's brief to us was based around their desire to embrace the experimental, the fantastical, the humorous, the sorrowful and the extreme. So while we designed a brochure that offered clear and easy access to all the many events offered during the festival it also had a healthy dose of strong colour, exciting images, with something different happening on every spread.

The final brochure was 60 pages packed with information and images. As so often happens on literature where images are sourced from a variety of sources - some were great quality... and some weren't. The layout design we created enabled us to feature the strong images – often by using them larger and cutting out the backgrounds so they could overlay the other elements on the page. This gave each spread a different feel and ensured no two pages were the same.

Dispirito also designed posters, promotional postcards and website to support the festival.

It was difficult for me to pick up a job halfway through, but Dispirito Design helped make the transition as smooth as possible. When major changes were made late in the day, it was good to work with a design company who understood that there were lots of different pressures.
