Company Branding
Greenwoods contacted Dispirito after being recommended our services by an existing client. They had reached a stage where they knew their existing logo and corporate identity did not do justice to the quality of their service. They were extremely well respected in Bristol, and have many customers coming back to them each time they moved house, yet their branding had become mismatched over the years and no longer gave out a cohesive message.
When Dispirito was called in it was clear that we had to start right at the beginning. This meant talking with Greenwoods to draw out a brief to give us a starting point to work from.
The design that evolved came out of their wanting to be 'placed' in the area they worked. As Bristol has a rich maritime heritage, (by the 14th century the city was trading with several countries including Spain, Portugal and Iceland. Ships also left Bristol to found new colonies in the New World.) it was felt that reflecting this in the logo would highlight that Greenwoods was a local and independent estate agency. The sail icon was combined with slanted type to hint at a boat without being overly obvious.
We explored way of avoiding using the obvious green... but it became clear that rendering the Greenwoods in any other colour was confusing. To lift the logo (and subsequent stationery and marketing literature) we introduced fresh orange and lime colours to compliment the dark green.
The final logo is very distinctive and has proved flexible enough to enable it to be used successfully on signage, for sale boards, website, folders, stationery and marketing flyers.
